Ruth and the people who leave

On day 1 a group on your floor leaves while the lift is still working. Ruth tells you the box on the dining table is yours. In another run the departing neighbors asked the player to carry a blue gym bag to the pile by the lift before they left. After they go, their apartments are open to search. One guide calls helping them worth your while.

Mara and the radio

Someone taps on the pipes, and in one run bangs on the radiator. It is Mara, who has been hitting the pipe since the day before to get attention. She is out of food and offers a radio for two portions; players who traded got the radio and heard the city emergency broadcast (radio). Captions spell her name Mara, Maria and Marv in different recordings; it is the same pipe-tapping neighbor. A note in an empty apartment is addressed to her: someone watering her plants while she was away.

Dev Patel

Arthur Hail tells you Dev is up in 3102 on floor 31 and studies medicine, and that lift 2’s landing door opens onto floor 31 from the shaft side. The objective that follows asks you to give Dev clean water. The player who got this far had not found the way up to him yet, so what Dev offers is still unknown. A medicine student is a good guess for bandages, but that is a guess.

How do you find them?

Most announce themselves: a knock, tapping on a pipe, or a new objective. When you hear tapping, the game names it (“someone taps on a metal pipe”); follow it.

Which neighbor first?

1. Daniel (night 0): you have to answer the door anyway.
2. Ruth’s group (day 1): they leave while the lift runs, so this one expires.
3. Mara (day 1–2): two portions are cheap early, and the radio gives you the broadcast.
4. Arthur Hail (once you have a hammer or screwdriver): his talk unlocks the next objectives.
5. Eli (when you can clear floor 29): the hiking pack.
6. Dev Patel (once you have clean water to spare and a way into lift 2).

Do neighbors die or leave if you wait?

Some do. Ruth’s group is gone after day 1, and one guide found an ignored Daniel turned the next day. Arthur’s and Eli’s quests stayed open for days in the recording that completed them, so the timed ones are the first two.
