Arthur Hail on floor 28 mentions a **roof key** on his bench. The roof holds the water tank and is where the official description puts the rooftop shelters. ## Why can’t you take the stairs up? Players who climbed the stairwell to the top found the roof door with “something heavy stacked against it”, locked from the roof side. There is no way to open it from inside the stairwell in any recording so far. ## How do you get onto the roof? - **Get the triangular key.** It is in the toolbox in your apartment’s main room ([keys](https://30floorsupguide.wiki/items/keys/#triangular-key)). - **Open the elevator doors** on your floor with it. - **Climb the emergency ladder** in the shaft. One guide says the first trip up has to go this way and that you also want the wrench with you. - Go in daylight with a light source; the shaft is dark. A walkthrough from 7 November shows exactly this: triangular key from the toolbox, elevator door open, up to the rooftop. ## What is the roof key? When you talk to Arthur Hail, one player noted that he mentions the **roof key** being “on the bench”. It likely opens the stair door from the inside, which would give you a second way up, but no recording shows it being used yet. Arthur also points you to “the roof tanks”. - **Shelters.** The official description says you can “build rooftop shelters”. One guide says the rooftop unlocks your long-term survival route. How shelter building works has not been shown in a recording yet. - **Escape.** Daniel tells you “we need to get to the roof”. Three separate sources point there: the official description promises rooftop shelters, the water from the floor 27 valve is pumped to the roof tank, and Daniel says you need to get to the roof. One guide calls it the start of your long-term survival route.
